Precision Surgery, Compassionate Care

Laparoscopic, or "minimally invasive," surgery is a specialised technique for performing surgery. It is also known as keyhole or band-aid surgery due to the size of the surgical incisions. Laparoscopic surgery uses several 0.5-1 cm incisions, and each incision is called a "port." At each port, a tubular instrument known as a trocar is inserted. Specialised instruments and a special camera known as a laparoscope are passed through the trocars during the procedure.

This form of surgery can be done for a wide range of procedures, from hernias to tumours and ulcers. Ruby Hall Clinic, one of the best hospital for laparoscopic surgery was one of the first few to start with a state-of-the-art centre with advanced technology and skills at the hands of internationally reputed surgeons, way back in 1998. Since then, we have performed more than 10,000 advanced laparoscopic surgeries. The Department of Laparoscopic Surgery is the first to start 3D laparoscopy in Pune.

FAQs

What Are The Advantages Of Laparoscopic Surgery?

With laparoscopic surgery, patients often experience less pain, a shorter recovery, less scarring and reduced hospital stay.

What Kinds Of Operations Can be performed using Laparoscopic Surgery?

Laparoscopic surgery is an option for the majority of intestinal surgeries, including those for severe constipation, cancer, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, Crohn's disease, Gall Bladder hernia and rectal prolapse. Laparoscopic cancer surgeries are safe for all types of cancer. We regularly perform advanced surgeries for the kidney, adrenals, and other cancers at our centre, in addition to laparoscopic procedures for appendicitis, gallstones, hernias, colon, and rectal cancers.

How Safe Is Laparoscopic Surgery?

Laparoscopic surgery is as safe as traditional open surgery. The best Laparoscopic surgeons in Pune initially inspects the abdomen to determine whether Laparoscopic surgery may be safely performed. If there is a large amount of inflammation or if the surgeon encounters other factors that prevent a clear view of the structures, the surgeon may need to make a larger incision to complete the operation safely.
