Paediatric Orthopaedics
Paediatric Orthopaedics deals with orthopaedic problems observed at birth or during the child's growth. Clubfoot (CTEV), foot turned inwards, foot turned outwards, hip dislocation, knee dislocation, torticollis (turned neck to one side), and obstetrical brachial plexus palsy are a few of the issues that can arise at birth.
A child may experience flat feet, gait, genu varus (bow legs), genu valgus (knock knees), and fractures as they grow. Since simple plasters and minor surgery can treat most of these conditions, it is crucial to time treatment for children. Additionally, children with cerebral palsy, a disorder that makes walking difficult for them, can benefit from both surgery and botox therapy.
